The NCAA has announced 16 opening-weekend hosts for the NCAA Women's Tournament, including Oklahoma, Duke, Iowa, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, North Carolina, and Texas. The announcement was made a day before the bracket was revealed, giving schools an extra day to sell tickets, broadcast partner ESPN to move its equipment to the locations and the NCAA to get its marketing materials to the sites. This move has been successful in other sports such as baseball. The regional rounds will be held at two neutral sites for the fourth consecutive year, with Fort Worth, Texas, hosting half of the Sweet 16 and Sacramento, California, hosting the other eight teams. The Final Four will be played in Phoenix on April 3 and the championship game is two days later.
