The Minnesota Community Solar Garden Program has been named after slain former House Speaker Melissa Hortman. The program allows Minnesotans who cannot install solar panels to tap into renewable energy and receive a credit on their electricity bills. The bill was signed by Gov. Tim Walz and is part of several proposals to honor Hortman, which she considered one of her top political achievements.
