Holmdel Schools has introduced a tentative budget plan for the 2026-27 school year, with a public hearing on the final budget set for April 29. The district is expected to receive a $72,741 increase in state aid compared to the 2025-26 school year. However, some cuts are necessary to balance the budget. The plan includes the reduction of 20 certificated positions, six non-certificated positions and seven hourly positions, and an agreement with the Township Committee eliminating administrative costs for contracted police (traffic duty/site security). The district also plans to eliminate courtesy and late busing for the next school year in order to balance its budget. If they cannot continue courtesy busing, the district may consider a subscription-based busing program.
