Auston Matthews, the Maple Leafs star, has been ruled out of the season due to a knee-on-knee hit by Radko Gudas during a game against the Ducks. The injury is a significant blow for the team, which is currently in last place in the Atlantic Division and is set to miss the postseason for the first time since 2015-16. Godas, who also injured Team Canada's Sidney Crosby during the game, is facing a possible suspension from the NHL's Player Safety department.
