Wrong rental mistaken for stolen vehicle in Summit County, deputies say

A vehicle matching a stolen-car alert was spotted in Summit County, Colorado, but deputies stopped it and found a family who mistakenly took the wrong rental car. The family explained they had rented the vehicle using the rental service Turo and accessed a lock box at the airport with the code they were given. No crime was committed due to the misunderstanding. The Sheriff's Office managed to switch the rental to the wrong vehicle and allow the family to continue their journey.
