Submissions open for 2027 Discover COS calendar, highlighting city's natural spaces

The Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) Department is accepting submissions for its 2027 Discover COS calendar. The contest allows amateur and professional photographers to submit photos of the city's parks, trails and open sapces. The calendar does not have a theme but instead asks photographers to create photos that celebrate the beauty, character and experiences found in Colorado Springs' parks, trail, and open spaces. Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. Proceeds from the contest will go towards planting trees at the Snyder Quarry in Black Canyon Open Space.
