Louisiana's Attorney General, Liz Murrill, has argued in favor of the death penalty for Todd Wessinger, who was convicted of the 1995 killings of two employees at a Baton Rouge restaurant. The case has been ongoing since the original sentencing date of that day, 31 years after the murders. A judge in 2004 overturned the death sentence, stating certain evidence was not presented to the jury, but Murrill disagrees. She believes the appeals court will rule in her favor and allow Wessingers to be executed.
