The Wolves' offensive gameplan involved attacking Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, and Jaden McDaniels, who identified the team's defensive advantages as "bad defenders". Rudy Gobert was in foul trouble throughout the game and challenged teammate Anthony Edwards, who scored 30 and 24 points to bring the Wolves back. Despite not being named a finalist for the award, players expressed their feelings about Gobert's treatment and his impact on the team down the stretch.
