A bipartisan team of lawmakers is urging Congress to pass legislation aimed at safeguarding children online and holding Big Tech accountable. The STOP CSAM Act would allow victims of child sex abuse material to sue companies that profit from, proliferate or store it, and would expand protections for victims in federal court. The Sunset Section 230 Act would repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which allows social media companies to evade liability for user-generated content.
