The 45th annual Ohio Fire Service Hall of Fame & Awards Ceremony will be held at COSI in downtown Columbus on May 12. Twelve individuals from Northeast Ohio will be recognized for their bravery, leadership, and service. Among them are six firefighters from the Painesville Township and Painesville City fire departments, who will receive the Fire Service Valor Award for their efforts to rescue a woman trapped inside a burning home. Two Summit County fire service veterans will also receive the Ohio Fire Services Distinguished Service Award. In total, 21 individuals from across Ohio are being recognized in categories including the Citizens Award, Fire ServiceValor Award, Distinguished Services Award, and Fire Department of the Year.
