Trump fight defines Colorado governor debate

The Democratic candidates for Colorado governor, Phil Weiser and Michael Bennet, have clashed over who is the best qualified to fight President Trump in the upcoming governor's race. Weiser, current attorney general, criticized Bennet for his votes in favor of Trump appointees, particularly Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, who attempted to withhold food assistance benefits for low-income families. Bennet countered that he opposed 95% of Trump's appointees and admitted he regretted voting for Energy Secretary Chris Wrigh. The debate also highlighted Weiser's involvement in or filing 64 lawsuits against the Trump administration in its second term, but Bennet argued that he did too little to oppose Trump during the president's first administration.
