What Michael Phelps says about Utah’s next Olympics and mental health

Former Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, known for his 28 Olympic medals, has spoken about his passion for reducing the stigma around mental health and advocating for athletes to be treated differently. He toured the Huntsman Mental Health Institute Crisis Care Center at the University of Utah, which he believes should be a permanent center for emergency mental health conditions. Phelps also shared his personal struggles with mental health, and expressed his belief that all athletes need help and care they need and deserve. He highlighted the importance of the center, which is part of a Huntsman mental health institute, and suggested that more could be done to improve athlete mental health. He also mentioned that he would use this information to advise organizers of Utah's 2034 Winter Games.
