The Ohio Statewide Tornado Drill, the main event of Severe Weather Awareness Week, is set for March 18th at 9:50am. All counties across the state will sound their tornado sirens to test their systems and give the public an opportunity to practice their severe weather safety plans. However, if there is any severe weather in the area that day, the test may be cancelled to avoid confusion. The National Weather Service is hosting several Skywarn Spotter training seminars in the weeks ahead.
