Kim Kardashian has endorsed a bill by Democratic Sen. Cory Booker that would require all incarcerated workers to receive the federal minimum wage through amendments to the Fair Labor Standards Act and eliminate excessive deductions for fees, fines, and living costs in correctional facilities. The bill has been reintroduced after it stalled in the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Kardashian, who has been a vocal criminal justice reform advocate in recent years, joined Booker's new push due to the Los Angeles wildfires last year. She said that while incarcerated workers contribute billions of dollars annually to the U.S. economy, they are not paid the same as regular workers due to their status behind bars.
