The start of the week has been milder than Sunday, with passing clouds and little precipitation expected. However, the drop in the jet stream has led to a slight coolness in the air, with temperatures starting to fall from around the upper 20s to the 40s, and elsewhere in the southeast ranging from the 60s to 80s. The potential for isolated storms is expected across New Mexico, particularly in the San Juan Basin, the western communities, and parts of the Rio Grande Valley. Temperatures are expected to drop even more on Tuesday, with the fire threat at least elevated for many eastern areas.
