A podcast produced by local media company, Northshore Media, helped Louisiana police solve the murder of 16-year-old Roxanne Sharp in 1982. The case was initially unsolved due to a lack of evidence and witnesses. However, a six-part series of the podcast helped raise public interest in the case. The podcast also generated crucial tips from the public and led to new witnesses approaching investigators. Four men, Perry Wayne Taylor, Darrell Dean Spell, Carlos Cooper, and Billy Williams, Jr., have been charged with aggravated rape and second-degree murder. The suspects were already in prison on unrelated charges and Sharp was an acquaintance of the suspects.
