The U.S. government has not delivered the $625 million allocated for security at the FIFA World Cup, according to New Jersey congresswoman Nellie Pou. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had planned to distribute the money by Jan. 30, but has yet to do so, raising concerns about the readiness of municipalities hosting World Cup games. Pou, who serves on the House Homeland Security Committee, believes the delay is due to partisan politics and that the Trump administration's motives are '100%' political. She also refuted claims that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was delaying the payments due to a funding impasse.
