An undocumented immigrant, Fabritio Sardaru, has been sentenced to two years in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identify theft in Howard County, Maryland. Sardaru and his co-conspirators obtained EBT information from victims across the country, using skimming devices and other tools. They then fraudulently purchased bulk bulk items using cloned EBT cards containing victims' personal information. The loss of their SNAP benefits led to at least 15 people being unable to obtain food items until after their funds were replenished.
