A strong cold front is expected to move through the Carolinas, bringing widespread rain, embedded thunderstorms, and a noticeable temperature drop. The first half of Thursday will be the most active, with rain ramping up by mid-morning and lingering into early afternoon before gradually clearing east. Once the cold front passes, temperatures will steadily drop through the day, with readings expected to fall into the upper 40s to low 50s by evening. However, the cool-down won't last long, with temperatures expected to warm up into the 70s by the weekend. Another storm system is expected late Sunday into Monday with another round of rain.
