‘Maspalomas,’ ‘State Of Firsts’ Earn Top Prizes At Sonoma International Film Festival

The 29th Sonoma International Film Festival has awarded prizes in multiple categories. Maspalomas, directed by Jose Mari Goenaga and Aitor Arregi, won the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature, while State of Firsts won Best Documentary Feature. The Special Jury Prize for Directing went to Marie-Elsa Sgualdo for Silent Rebellion, a drama set in WWII-era rural Switzerland. Jane Elliott Against the World won the Audience Award in the feature documentary category. The Christophers, The Watchrs, and Watchrs from the Abyss, were also awarded.
