Huntington man sentenced to probation for transporting girls in refrigerated trailer

A 29-year-old man from Huntington, Utah, has been sentenced to 24 months probation for transporting two young girls in a refrigerated trailer. The driver pleaded guilty to two charges of intentional or knowing aggravated child abuse and was sentenced to two terms of 364 days for each charge, which were suspended. The severity of the charges was reduced from a first-degree felony to a Class A misdemeanor. The girls, who were found inside the trailer, were the driver's half-siblings and he was transporting them to Salt Lake City for exams and stay with a family member. If he violates his probation terms, he could serve his suspended sentence.
