Fairfax supervisor says ICE should've deported murder suspect in 2018

Jeff McKay, chair of the board of supervisors for Fairfax County, has argued that Abdul Jalloh, an undocumented immigrant charged with murdering a woman, should have been deported in 2018. McKay stated that JallOH was first arrested in Fairfax County in 2018 and turned him over to ICE, but nothing was done. He questioned why ICE was not successful in dealing with individuals who had committed egregious crimes such as Jallo. The Department of Immigration and Enforcement responded by pointing out that a detainer was not honored.
