Alex Fitzpatrick, the younger brother of former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, has taken a one-shot lead at the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow. He hit a seven-under-par 64, leading Norway's Kristoffer Reitan by one stroke. Despite starting the day two shots off the lead, Fitzpatrick managed to score eight birdies and move to 14 under par. Meanwhile, world number two Rory McIlroy struggled with a four-over-par 75 to fall out of contention. Cameron Young, who recorded the highest round of the day at 63, came in third at 12 under.
