Widespread storms are moving into New Mexico, with milder air and little precipitation mixed in. Temperatures are expected to drop as thunderstorms may be strong to severe, particularly in the mountains, the San Juan Basin, the western communities, the Rio Grande Valley, and the San Francisco Bay. Many areas from eastern New Mexico to the Pecos River Valley will see temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to the 80s. The next storm system will bring in even more Pacific moisture later in the day. The potential for severe weather may increase the fire threat.
