Asos demands £7m in tariff refunds from US as firms rush to make claims

Online fashion retailer Asos is seeking refunds from the US for the £7m worth of tariffs it paid in the first half of its financial year. The US Supreme Court recently overturned the "Liberation Day" tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, paving the way for the largest repayment programme in history. As of early April, over 56,000 importers had applied for refunds, with their claims totalling $127bn. The successful applicants can be paid within 60 to 90 days.
