Former University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling has been indicted on first-degree manslaughter for her newborn son's death in August. The charges were brought after an autopsy revealed that the baby was born alive and his cause of death was asphyxia by undetermined means. Snelling, who was initially charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant, has pleaded not guilty to these charges and is currently under house arrest at her family home in Tennessee. She faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for the first-render manslaughter charge and an additional 11 years for the remaining charges if found guilty.
