The seventh-seeded Apple Valley High School League Boys Basketball team continued its remarkable feat with a 73-63 victory over No. 3 Maple Grove, marking the first time a No. 7 seed has played a 5th seed in the Class AAAA semifinals. The win was part of a two-game series of big-school semifinals, which also saw No. 5 Chaska defeat No. 1. The Eagles have been playing in the championship game since 2018.
