Anti-drug trafficking operations result in hundreds of arrests

The Mexican Navy (Semar) has arrested 234 people in Puebla, Tlaxcala, Morelos, Mexico City and México state and seized 1,033 kg (one tonne) of methamphetamine between March 23 and 29. This is part of Operation Sable, which aims to deter illicit activities such as drug trafficking. In addition, Semar seized seven handguns, one rifle, eight magazines, and 215 rounds of ammunition across the five states. In a separate operation, six drug trafficking suspects were arrested, made possible by intelligence provided by the United States Northern Command and the Joint Interagency Task Force. The seizure of a speedboat led to the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of 14 packages of cocaine.
