Tesla's first quarter sales report has been released, with a modest 6% year over year, but the trend lines are all bad. The company delivered 358,023 vehicles to customers, a 14% decrease from the previous year, and produced 408,306 vehicles, a 6% decrease quarter over quarter. Despite this, Tesla has recorded two consecutive years of declining sales and is shifting its focus away from automotive sales to robotaxis and humanoid robots. This shift has been attributed to rising competition from Chinese brands and the elimination of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Despite these challenges, Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, has pushed the company towards becoming a global leader in AI and robotics.
