The Bonner Springs Braves have won their first state title since 1984, defeating top-seeded Kapaun Mt. Carmel 53-50 in the Kansas Class 5A state championship game. The team was greeted by a parade and members of the community when they returned to Bonnershire. The Braves hope this victory will inspire future players to achieve success.
