EU prepares finalisation of Ukraine loan and new Russia sanctions, Cyprus says

The European Union is finalising a 90 billion euro ($106 billion) loan to Ukraine and a new package of sanctions against Russia. This decision was made after Hungary removed its veto over the deal. The EU had previously agreed to keep Ukraine liquid through 2026 and 27 years. However, Hungary's Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, accused Ukraine of sabotaging the transit of Russian oil through a damaged pipeline. The agreement was removed when oil group MOL informed the Ukrainian operator of the Druzhba pipeline was ready to resume crude oil transit.
