Amid long Autism diagnosis waits, one New Jersey group offers faster path to care

The Uncommon Thread, a nonprofit applied behavior analysis provider in Stirling, New Jersey, has launched its 30-day Pathway to Treatment program to help families with autism diagnosis within 30 days. The program was launched two months ago and has expanded its network from 10 specialists to 75. Founder Greg Carr, who founded the organization in 2007, credits the program's success to the early intervention of ABA services for his son's progress. The organization has served about 750 children over nearly 20 years and operates in preschools and school districts across New Jersey. The delays in autism evaluations and services are largely due to a shortage of trained health care workers.
