Dietitian nutritionist Stephanie Schiff from Northwell Huntington Hospital has shared three healthy pasta recipes that can easily fit into your regular rotation without compromising your healthy eating goals. These include a five-layer cheese lasagna, which can be served with a side of broccoli or spinach for extra fiber. These recipes can be adapted to suit your own taste, or to use whatever is available. Schiff also highlighted how to control the amounts of sodium and sugar used in this dish and leave them out. She recommends reaching for whole wheat pasta, as long as possible, since the extra fiber can help you feel full longer and may prevent blood sugar spikes compared to refined versions.
