An Underground Railroad spot, the Sharp House in Westerville

The city of Westerville has purchased the property of the Sharp House, which may have been used by slaves during the Underground Railroad era. The city plans to develop the house on about 88 acres of mostly farmland while maintaining its historic value. While the city plans not to destroy the structure, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is under consideration for a museum, restaurant, and a public exhibition.
