Kashanna Legette, a 22-year-old Bronx mother, experienced an unexpected birth on the street on February 13. Her contractions began rapidly increasing and she was unable to make it to the hospital. Her sister spotted a police cruiser parked nearby and alerted officers from the NYPD’s 42nd Precinct. They quickly intervened and Legetette delivered a healthy 7-pound, 11-ounce baby girl.
