Democratic California Rep. Robert Garcia was photographed enjoying drinks at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas bar during the government shutdown. The Senate Democrats have blocked funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in an effort to impose restrictions on immigration enforcement operations. This has resulted in hundreds of Transportation Security Agency (TSA) employees either calling out of work or resigning, causing long queues at airports across the country. Garcia, the ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, blamed House Speaker Mike Johnson for the situation. President Donald Trump has ordered Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullen to pay the remaining TSA agents.
