Phillies' Bryce Harper miffed by losing streak; Taijuan Walker cut

The Philadelphia Phillies are currently facing an eight-game losing streak, with only 16 runs and 19-7 losses over the last three games against the Chicago Cubs. The team also released veteran right-hander Taijuan Walker one day after he gave up four earned runs in four innings. Manager Rob Thomson said the release was performance-based and that it was a wake-up call for the team. The Phillies also recalled pitcher Nolan Hoffman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and optioned righty Alan Rangel.
