The Department of Education is set to introduce new measures to help finance higher education and protect families and taxpayers. The regulations will eliminate the Grad PLUS program, which allowed unlimited borrowing for advanced degrees. The move comes as total college loans have increased by 345% since 2005, and tuition has risen faster than any other household expense in the last 40 years.
