Former NFL player shares foster system experience at IUN forum

Former NFL player Gaelin Elmore was the keynote speaker at the 36th Indiana University Northwest Forum on Child Abuse and Neglect: Advocates for Children and Families. Elmore, who spent time in and out of foster care as a child, shared a message about the power of belonging and how it can improve connections between children, families, and careworkers. He also emphasized the importance of recognizing the difference between potential and circumstances, including the environment they live in and their family. Elman encouraged social work professionals to continually support families and children who need them. He presented attendees with the "C.A.R.E. Method" for their work with children.
