The Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA) has released its list of the most popular cat breeds for 2026 based on 2025 registrations. The top 10 list includes Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Persians, and the Exotic breed of Persian cats. The Devon Rex, a curly haired cat, has been the most common shorthaired breed for the last five years. The British Shorthair is known for its round appearance and dense coat, and Russian Blues are popular for their affectionate personality and high intelligence.
