President Trump is still popular among former Vice President Kamala Harris (D) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), despite a dip in job approval ratings. In a new NBC News survey, 41 percent of respondents expressed favorable views of the president, while only 34 percent responded favorably to Harris, compared to 27 percent for Newsom. The two politicians are often mentioned as potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential race. Additionally, potential GOP presidential contenders Marco Rubio and JD Vance trailed behind Trump in the poll.
