President Donald Trump has warned that he cannot guarantee the safety of Iran's soccer team if they travel to the U.S. for the World Cup later this year. This comes after Iran's sports minister, Ahmad Donyamali, stated that the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran would preclude Iran from participating in the tournament. This is a rare break from global commitment to athlete safety since the Palestinian terrorist group Black September massacred 11 members of Israel's Olympic team in 1972.
