Doctors warn of AI use and teen mental health

The American Psychological Association has stated that chatbots are popular with teens, often used for advice and support, but this could pose a problem if they replace real human interaction with friends and family. Some teens are using them for mental health advice, which should come from a trained professional. Dr. Katy Hopkins, a Norton Children’s Psychologist, has urged families to stay informed about AI use and keep open conversations about issues with teens.
