Scientists and designers have created the world's first Tyrannosaurus Rex purse, made from fragments of fossilized dinosaur remains. The bag, designed by high-end Polish tech wear label Enfin Leveout, is intended to showcase the benefits of laboratory-grown leather. The main aim of the project is to develop what they claim will be a more humane and sustainable substitute for leather in the high-priced market. The material was developed using protein fragments extracted from dinosaur remains inserted into an unidentified animal's cell to produce collagen that was turned into leather. It will be displayed at Amsterdam's Art Zoo museum until May 11 before being auctioned at a reported starting price of over half a million dollars.
