Alphie Lonergan, 84, is under increasing pressure to care for his two sons, one of whom is autistic and has obsessive compulsive disorder. The Southern Health Trust has withdrawn a three-hour care package provided by the trust for both of their sons, set to end in 2024. The decision was made due to a lack of social care staff and a decrease in staffing capacity. Alphande, who currently has a carer working an hour to get him up and dressed, is also struggling to get enough rest due to Don'towowow. The trust has apologised for the stress and uncertainty surrounding the situation, but is working to maintain the service.
