Apple has settled a lawsuit with former employee Di Liu, who it alleges stole thousands of documents before joining Snap. The lawsuit was filed in June 2025, claiming Liu stole a "massive volume" of trade secrets before leaving Apple for another company. Liu worked at Apple from September 2017 to November 2024, focusing on hardware and design engineering for Apple Vision Pro. He left Apple the same month Apple filed its lawsuit. Liu had not informed Apple he was leaving to work on another company's product and was allowed to stay on for the standard two-week departure period rather than immediately losing access to Apple’s proprietary information. The case was dismissed this week following a settlement agreement between Liu and Apple.
