FX's Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette died in a 1999 plane crash, along with Carolyn's sister, Lauren Bessetta. The show, which became a hit for the network after premiering on Feb. 12, depicted the deaths of the real-life John and Carolyn. The finale, "Search and Recovery," depicted the moments leading up to the crash. Viewers do not see or hear the crash and the Kennedy family reported the missing plane to the U.S. Coast Guard. The episode 9 of the show also included scenes from John, Carolyn, and Lauren on the plane before the crash, which ended with poignant close-up shots of them together.
