Missouri Governor, Governor Kehoe, has signed House Bill 2014, which includes nearly $3.15 billion in a total of nearly four-figure bill. The bill includes $86 million for St. Louis tornado disaster relief, $830 million in State Emergency Management Agency disaster spending authority, $800 million from the Missouri Disaster Fund, $30 million in General Revenue matching funds for federal grants, and $14.2 million for the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Grant Program. Additional funds are allocated for high-quality, specialized care for children and youth with intensive behavioral health needs, $10.4 million for vocational rehabilitation and employment services for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. The most contentious part of the bill is $132 million to implement Public Law No. 119-21, the federal legislation commonly referred to as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which requires significant updates to state’s income maintenance and benefits eligibility systems. Not all supported the bill, with several Missourians testifying against proposed cuts to self-directed disability services.
