Lawrence A. Whipple, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and Connecticut National Guard captain, died at 94. He retired after 21 years of service and worked for over two decades as a service manager at Valenti Chevrolet. Thomas L. Niland, a 92-year-old veteran, also enjoyed camping, sledding, skating, fishing, building puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. Steven P. Reid, 67, was a graphic arts color scanner operator for Colotone, Gamma One and Vertis and later a senior customer service representative at Brook & Whittle. Michael Vance Epting, 72, worked for many years as a manager at Tech Circuits Inc. and was a lover of all animals.
