Minnesota to celebrate Farmworkers Day on Tuesday after Legislature disavows Cesar Chavez

For the first time, Minnesotans will celebrate Farmworkers Day on March 31, instead of commemorating disgraced labor leader Cesar Chavez. This comes after a New York Times investigation revealed that Chavez sexually abused girls working in his movement. The state legislature approved this change with unanimous votes. The day of Farmworker Day has been commemorated since 2014.
